Exploring the online experiences of boys and young men
The E Safety Commission has just released a new online webinar that goes into how the internet can offer boys and young men connection and guidance as they figure out what it means to be a man today. But it also comes with risks—like harmful content, online exploitation, and toxic ideas about gender. This webinar is being run on the 27th of May at 12:30pm.
This 45-minute webinar will help parents understand:
- social and cultural forces influencing boys
- how boys interact online and the risks they face
- the effects of social media, gaming, and influencers on their identity and behaviour
- practical ways to encourage critical thinking, challenge harmful messages, and have open conversations to help boys stay safe and respectful online.
Please use the following link to register for one or more of the available webinars from the E Safety Commission.

Book Club has arrived for this term and went home with students last week! This edition is packed with books for all ages and reading levels. The Book Club is a great way to support our school as 15% of every order goes back to our Library to purchase new books. If you find something you like, place your order using Loop instructions below and then the book will be delivered to your child’s class in a few short weeks. Orders close on Thursday 15 May.

It was a wonderful start to our term with the Anzac Day Service last Wednesday afternoon. Many thanks to Madeline, Aidan and Tobias’ Dad, Lt Col Tim O’Brien for giving such a thoughtful and insightful commemorative address.
To all the Defence children at St Joseph’s who helped prepare meaningful decorations for our service and so willingly and reverently undertook roles on the day, we were very proud of all of you. Thank you.
