Week 3 Term 4 2022 Newsletter

Dear Parents, Carers and the St Joseph’s Community,

The prayer for this week is dedicated to our amazing Fete Committee for the hours and hours of work and dedication they have put in to making our upcoming Fete an amazing event.

A Prayer of Gratitude for Volunteers

God our provider, thank you for the volunteers You provide to our community.

You call precisely the right people to the right area of service.

Thank you for calling out and gifting volunteers to serve.

I stand amazed at Your great choreography called life,

which brings Your children together to perform beautiful acts of service.

    Amen.

    Pupil Free Day
It was communciated in Cameron's Friday message 14 October that Catholic Education has allocated Friday 16 December as a pupil free day. This is the last day of the 2022 school year and all Catholic schools will use this day to finalise the year and to even begin preparations for 2023. Please see linked a letter from Ross Fox, Director of Catholic Education Canberra Goulburn.

A Message from Kerry our School Counsellor

There is a new dedicated portal called MindMap (mindmap.act.gov.au) for children and young people (up to 25 years of age) to help navigate Canberra’s mental health system and to find the right service and support. MindMap is available Monday to Sunday between 11am and 10pm, 7 days a week.

You can navigate the portal yourself, anytime, to find information about mental health services and helpful information. If you prefer to contact someone about finding the right service or information you can phone, email, or webchat:

MindMap understands that some services may have long waitlists, so can help support children and young people while they wait. They can offer to call or email you while you wait for a service and provide you with some helpful information. MindMap can also offer some counselling sessions to keep you supported until you are able to access the right service, which are free for you while you wait.

Have an enjoyable end to the week!

    Yours in Christ,
    Amy Doszpot

    Religious Life of the School

Tomorrow our Year 6 Well-being and Assistance leaders will be raising money for Catholic Mission through a Move-for-Mission Disco being held at break times. We are asking students to bring a gold coin donation.  This year, we walk hand-in-hand with the Church of Ethiopia and the local communities towards providing life-changing opportunities to those most in need.

    Prayer and Worship

Pope’s prayer intentions- For The Challenges Facing Humanity and the Mission of the Church

Let all be one! May we all be one!

Good Father, we want to do our part and

live the words that your son Jesus spoke to you.

We wish to live out fully the mission we

    received at Baptism.

We dream of being a Church in a communion of love that is

    collaborative and missionary,

committed to the challenges of the world

in which everyone can feel at home and can participate.

We dream of being a Church that listens to the renewing

    of your Holy Spirit,

    a Church of closeness, compassion

and tenderness, that does not separate from life

but takes charge of the fragilities and poverty of our time.

Help us to be a different Church open to your newness

in which we all walk together.

    Amen.
