Assistant Principal's Message

“Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” (Colossians 3:23)
God, we thank You for our children,
for their enthusiasm, creativity, and courage.
As they sing, dance, and perform,
may they do it with all their hearts,
sharing the joy and love You have placed within them.
Help them to know that their best effort is enough,
and that every smile, every song, and every step
can bring glory to You.
Doing All Things With Love and Respect
This week we have been regularly reminding our students that the way we treat others shows what is in our hearts. When children do what is asked of them by the adults who care for them, they learn trust, cooperation, and self-discipline. These simple acts of listening and responding with respect help create safe, calm, and positive learning environments. We encourage you to have conversations with your children at home about the ways in which they can further develop these important character strengths.
Musical
Our school has been buzzing with activity and enthusiasm during musical preparations. The children are busily rehearsing, and their joy and pride is tangible. There are still tickets for our matinee performances available with the evening performances now sold out. A reminder that if you have not already provided your child’s costume, it is required for tomorrow’s dress rehearsal.

Lolly Donations
We are seeking donations of lollies to create lolly bags for sale at our musical next week. Please see the attached flyer for more information. Donations can be given to the front office or classroom teachers.
Sock It Day
This Friday students are invited to wear casual clothes in exchange for a gold coin donation for the Catholic Missions. Year 6 students will be hosting activities for students to participate in throughout the day.
Boorowa Carnival
This Friday many students from Year 4-6 will be attending the Boorowa touch football and netball carnival. Thank you to our families for supporting this event and to our teachers for coordinating a successful day.
We look forward to celebrating the musical with all of our families next week!

Sock It Day
This year, our school is supporting Catholic Mission through ‘Sock It’ Day on Friday 24 October. This is a fun and meaningful way to show that we care for others. During the week, our Year 6 leaders shared with all classes about how the people of Zambia, a country in the heart of Africa, need our help.
Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world, and through Catholic Mission, we can help provide food, education, clean water and health care to children and families in need. Every small act of love helps remind others that they are cared for and not forgotten.
Together with Mr Tarrant’s message about caring, we are called to
- care for ourselves,
- care for others,
- care for our belongings,
- care for others’ belongings, and
- care for our words and actions.
When we do this, we share Jesus’ love with everyone around us.
Proverbs 11:25 tells us:
“A generous person will be enriched, and one who gives will also receive God’s love.”
All classes have listened to a story about kindness and were invited to write one way that they could fill someone else’s Kindness Bucket on a heart. These hearts are displayed in classrooms to remind students to show care and kindness every day.
On Friday, we invite everyone to wear free dress for a gold coin donation to support Catholic Mission’s life-changing work in Zambia.
Together, let’s “sock it” to poverty and fill the buckets of children and families across the world with hope and love.
School/Parish Mass
On Saturday 15 November, St Joseph’s Primary School will be leading the 6:00pm Parish Mass. After the school musical, an invitation will be sent out for students to read, sing, and participate in leading the Mass.
Following the celebration, join us for a sausage sizzle and some friendly fellowship. We warmly invite all school families and friends to come along and share in this special community event.

Children’s Liturgy
Every Sunday at the 8:30am Mass, Children’s Liturgy is held. This is where children are invited to hear and discuss the Gospel reading in language that they can understand. I encourage you all to bring your children along to hear the Good News of the Gospel.
Altar Servers
“Serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” – 1 Peter 4:10
St Joseph’s Parish would like to provide an opportunity to serve for any students who would be interested in becoming Altar Servers at our weekend Masses.
What Does an Altar Server Do?
Altar serving is an important role, assisting the priest in celebrating the Mass. As well as performing practical tasks, Altar Servers also play a symbolic role and can help make the Mass more reverent, leading people closer to God. Altar Serving is a form of prayer and gives you the opportunity to be closer to Jesus in the Eucharist.
Who Can Be an Altar Server?
Any Catholic who has received their First Holy Communion. There will be several training sessions to attend prior to serving at Mass where we will teach you what to do and will have to be attended before you can be rostered on.
If you are interested in training to be an Altar Server please email me or ask your child to collect a form from Mrs Buckley at school.
